Binder Park Zoo

Binder Park Zoo is a favorite for locals for families and couples alike. It has a fun interactive atmosphere where guests can enjoy their exotic animals and the joy of childhood wonderment. Their animals include classics like African Lions, American Black Bears, Cheetahs, Grant's Zebra, Reticulated Giraffes, Red Kangaroos and Ostriches.  They also have unique animals like African Painted Dogs, Bald Eagles, Black Crested Mangabey Monkeys, Chinese Red Pandas, Two Toed Sloths, Peacocks, and even Blue Poison Dart Frogs. There is no shortage of majestic creatures for people to see.

This Zoo even offers interactive activities with the animals. Guests can meet and feed the Zoo's Giraffes crisp lettuce from a their high Twiga overlook. Guests can buy one lettuce snack for 2 dollars and five lettuce snacks for 8 dollars. Guests are not allowed to feed the Giraffes anything else for the health of the Giraffes. Guests can also participate in Animal Play Days where they can watch first hand as Zookeepers keep the animals active and happy through enrichment activities. These Animal Play Days happen at least once or twice a month and can be seen on the Zoo's website as well as checked at the Zoo ticket entrance. Zookeepers also host shows about the animals themselves every day of the week with multiple shows about the different species around the zoo.

For those that want a break from the animals the Zoo also provides shopping and restaurants. Guests can grab a bite to eat at Beulah's Restaurant, Kalahari Kitchen, the Brass Ring, and a variety of food carts throughout the zoo for a quick snack. As far as shopping guests can get souvenirs at the Safari Gift Shop which sells a variety of Zoo themed gifts and Zawadi Traders which has a collection of African made and themed goods for guests to purchase.
